Even though quarantine consumed most of the world’s summer, looking back on last year’s vacation photos and getting a rush of FOMO isn’t uncommon. And while some areas are still under lockdown, others are opening up: leading to people enjoying the last bits of summer while staying socially distant.

Beaches and pools, with caution, are a low-medium risk of COVID-19 infection and can be a nice change of scenery after staring at a screen for hours on end.

Over the last few years, the body positivity movement has taken off, reminding us that every body is a bikini body. Who cares if you gained a few pounds during lockdown or didn’t get to get your perfect toned summer look at the gym? Showing up to splash in the waves should be fun, and it all starts with perfect swimwear.

We’re outlining our favorite inclusive swimwear brands, in both size and gender. By providing chic, fun and diverse suits, these labels are breaking the mold and allowing people all over to embrace their natural bodies as they soak up the sun.

Chromat

Chromat’s show during New York Fashion Week made waves during S/S 2020, not only for their incredible space collection but for the size diversity strutting down the runway. The brand was praised for its commitment to show off all models, plus-size and non-able bodied alike.

Ranging from XXS to 4X, Chromat provides a much-needed fresh look at runway swimwear for all people, not just thin models. With swanky velvet details and neon prints, the brand is the way to go for all alternative, trendsetting beach babes.

Kitty and Vibe

This brand’s name isn’t the only thing fun about them. While colorful and bold prints don their website, behind the brand’s playful nature is an inclusive mission, touching on important issues in the industry.

Driven by the idea that all bodies deserve kindness and comfort, Kitty and Vibe created custom sizing to hug every curve and emphasize each feature in the best way possible. Through a unique way of crafting bikini bottoms keeping all areas in mind, Kitty and Vibe’s pieces are basically sag-proof, perfect for women with hips.

Alpine Butterfly Swim

For women living out their girly, cottage-core fantasy, Alpine Butterfly Swim is the perfect destination. With sizes ranging from XS to 6X, the online brand prides itself in being a luxurious, plus-size swimwear label with bikinis, one-pieces and beach cover-ups. Most models wearing the pieces in campaigns are above a size L, allowing hopeful potential customers to see how the swimsuits would fit on bodies similar to the average woman.
