Marilyn was known to be a person of pure magic in the city that never sleeps. She left a monumental mark on the city that meant most to her in her life. Falling into a love-affair with the busy city, Marilyn’s love for New York City started in Brooklyn. Brooklyn had become her place of belonging in the large city of NYC. This was her home away from home in Hollywood where she wished to return later in life, becoming her escape from within the Hollywood sphere.

During this time, Marilyn partnered with her long-time friend and photographer Milton Greene to create her best-known project to date, her production company Marilyn Monroe Productions. Her production company consisted of maintaining creative control over the films Marilyn was set to star in, as she previously split from Fox Studios the year prior. This was a turning point for Monroe to prove to the world around her that she was a powerful person within the eyes of the industry, not just another name to be spoken of.

Discovering her new desire for her dreams, Marilyn set her sights on developing her own personal style and skill set in NYC. With the help of well-renowned acting coach Lee Strasberg, Marilyn had a mentor who was there to support, encourage, and inspire her to reach her fullest potential within the world of acting. With the support of Strasberg, Marilyn could conquer whatever the city had in store for her.

The New York City style scene is where inspiration was found for her as a model, actress, and businesswoman. Marilyn was a charismatic woman with an even more creative imagination when it came to the clothing hiding in her closet. Some of her staple items in her collection included : Lace, nudes, and neutrals. This style icon cemented her style into the New York fashion scene by sticking to simple staples that could be accomplished by anyone interested in the industry of fashion. Still today, many try to emulate her iconic image through her signature short blonde bob, sexy simplistic makeup look, and a style that could never be stolen. Marilyn was one of a kind.

She wasn’t just another pretty face, but a powerful presence still popular today. Monroe’s legacy is remembered for the magic and meaning she brought to her passion, profession, and craft. Her mark on this world will never be forgotten. She will always be remembered by those who loved her for the bright light and beautiful soul she was.
