Shoesday Tuesday: It's Time to Retire Your White Kicks

By: Kaylee Denmead | Edited by:  Caroline Vazzana

We can't lie, when white sneakers became the "shoe of the moment" we were pretty excited. Not only do they match almost everything, but they are also super comfortable. With that being said, it's not wonder we've had such a hard time retiring our beat up Stan Smith’s, no matter how mainstream they have become. If you’re getting tired of your white sneakers, but just can’t seem to give up the comfort of slipping into such an easy shoe, have no fear, there’s plenty of kicks to take their place. Below, shop six fun alternatives to your plain white sneakers.

SK8-Hi, $70; vans.com

For Cali kids, Vans are an ode to their West Coast roots, but these classic kicks can hold their own on the East Coast too. A fun floral easily pairs with your sundresses and denim shorts for summer.

Nike Classic Cortez Premium, $90; nike.com

First introduced as a track shoe in 1972, a pair of Nike Cortez kicks will impress not only your friends, but also your parents. Opt for this classic in a cool color or interesting material.

Sateen Sneakers, $56; zara.com

Fancy yourself a classier version of a sneaker? These navy satin shoes from Zara are for you. Whether pairing with a slip dress or a pair of mom jeans, these will give any look a sleek finish.

Sam Edelman, $100; Nordstrom.com

Sneakers for a girl who really doesn’t like sneakers probably look something like these pink Sam Edelman slides.

Iniki Runner Shoes, $120; Adidas.com

Just because you’re wearing a sporty shoe, doesn’t mean you have to play sports. These Adidas can hold their own at summer barbeques and long days at the park, while also complimenting your best brunch look.

Fenty Puma, $160; farfetch.com

Comfortable, cute, and certainly not a classic are the FENTY PUMAS by Rihanna. With a big bow to tie it all together, these sneakers are girly, with a side of Rihanna’s badass vibes.
